I am sitting here thinking of all the accomplishments I have achieved in this sport that I love so much. I may have not become a champion throughout my career. I may not have been much of a headliner in most promotions, although I was right there in the middle of some of the biggest promotions at the time.

My first pro match ever was January 25, 1981 in Tijuana Mexico. Myself and my tag team partner Juan Hernandez wrestled as Los Frailes 1 & 2 How fortunate were we to have had the privilege to have been on 3rd match on that evening, Wow! Underneath matches such as this:

Main Event - El Gran Goliath, Muralla del Ring, and Al Murrieta VS Gran Coloso, Superstar, and Piloto Nuclear

Semi Main Event - Ruso & Chuco Flores VS Rocky Ramos & Gory Chavez

3rd Match - Los Frailes 1&2 VS Rey Misterio & Pequeno Apolo

2nd Match - Guerrero Azul VS Marcos Cortez

1st Match - was promoted as "One More Match"

What an honor for us to have had our first match in the middle of such a card. I often think of how fortunate we were. I sometimes wondered why we weren't on that first match without our names on the program? They had no idea how we as rookies were going to perform, yet, the promotion took a chance. Lucky for us we didn't let the promotion or Goliath down as it was a very good match. A match that Juan and myself will never forget. We received compliments from everyone that knew it was our first match.

The main reason that we got that opportunity to be able to get a match with guys that at the time had five years experience over us and plus being put on the middle of the card with our name on the fliers was not because we had earned that right. It was because we had someone that cared about us. Someone that believed in us. Someone that we had made proud with our hard earned trust and training. That someone was the Great Goliath (Pablo Crispin Ordaz) He was responsible to make our dream a reality.

I spent nine years with Goliath helping him train some of the best that has come out of our area. With the EWF's 10th year anniversary approaching us this coming May 14, 2006 at Knights of Columbus Hall in Covina, Ca. I would like to dedicate for his sacrifices and for his generousity towards me and my old tag team partner, an Over the Top Battle Royal with the last man in the ring winning the first ever Great Goliath Memorial Trophy!

I would like to publicly let everyone know that the EWF promotion was originally started for the simple purpose of getting our students in front of a live crowd. If the EWF had been about making everyone a big payday then believe me, some of the best in So-Cal right now wouldn't have been given the chance to perform and learn and gain the experience they now have. The reason is, I would have used experienced wrestlers to be able to draw a bigger crowd. Some of our former students go out of the way to put me and the EWF down. If they misunderstood the situation for the length of time some of them were here, then, by God, why didn't they bail out sooner instead of waiting until they didn't get their way with certain things then crying wolf. Who is the fool here?

Show me one promotion that is going to give rookies a chance to perform in front of a live crowd with little knowledge and the possibility of screwing up, and still give them a great pay day for it.

With that being said, we here at the EWF are set on delivering the best shows possible and giving the fans the best entertainment for their money.

Sincerely,
Jesse Hernandez
