On June 23, 2006 Athletes International Ministries celebrated it's 22nd Annual Conference. EWF was proud to have been a part of this great event as Jesse Hernandez, his son Jesse, Jr., Cincinnati Red, Sonny Ayon, "Handsome" Johnny Starr, Brandon Nitro, Johnny Dynamite, Vizzion, Mikey Henderson, Hero, and Syrus all participated from Thursday evening June 22 to Sunday morning June 25.

On Friday the Award Banquet ceremony took place with Athlete of the Year Awards going to:

Grayling Love - College Football Player of the Year - Arizona State University
Jen Christian - Female College Athlete of the Year - University of Texas
Ike Diogu - NBA Man of the year - Golden State Steelers
Marvel Smith - NFL Man of the Year - Florida State university
Sue Semrau - Coach of the Year - Florida State University
Andy Livingston - Hall of Faith Award - Chicago Bears
Matt Austin - Rodeo Athlete of the Year - World Champion Bull Rider
Lee Humphrey - Athlete of the Year - University of Florida

A special Thanks to Larry & Wendy Kerrychuck for their hard work and dedication in making this yearly event possible. Many lives are changed due to this yearly event, making an impact on all of us that attend this special conference. it is always a pleasure in seeing our friends Ted Dibiase and his wife Melanie, along with George "The Animal" Steele, Steve Borden "Sting" Nikita Koloff, and so many others.

The special treat this year was an electrifying testimony by Lex Luger. Lex, as of two months ago received Jesus Christ as his lord and savior, came to this conference invited by Steve Borden. Lex's testimony made an impact on many of us including Sonny Ayon who along with Lex, both were baptized with water Saturday night.
