"MY THOUGHTS" by JESSE HERNANDEZ
| JESSE'S THOUGHTS February 12, 2008 Who said hard work
and dedication doesn't pay off? Well, it does, but along with the
hard work and dedication you also have to have a solid foundation.
It has taken EWF a long time to reach where we are right now. Our
events in Covina are a far cry from what they used to be. I am very
proud of the outcome of the new talent that has come in and the older
talent that has grown tremendously in knowledge. Having someone like
Cincinnati Red helping run the dressing room certainly has made a
difference. Red being the enforcer and non tolerable booker who doesn't
allow nonsense tactics to get past him, is a big A-Plus in the EWF.
It is the goal of this promotion to do everything possible to entertain
our fans the best way possible. With Red's encouragement our wrestlers
are getting involved in various ways to make our product better for
our fans.
I can not be happier. After years of struggling with various individuals who I am sure all had good intentions in wanting the EWF or the school to be what they desired it to become, would give up and run off instead of having a more positive attitude to work together and help build a better foundation for the right things to happen, Last February 10th was a firm example of what working together as a team is all about. Running Covina on a Sunday has never before done well. Although with positive energy and hard work we were able to draw a full house. It looked as packed or better then any Friday night we have had. Our fans were delighted and very supportive of the quality of our work and talent. I thank all wrestlers involved and helpers for their hard work and dedication, and most important our fans for giving us a chance to show you what Empire Wrestling Federation wrestling is all about. EWF along with the School of Hard Knocks have grown evenly. Our crowds specially in Covina are amazing. Our school has now moved into a much bigger building imaginable. I am so proud to be able to have my school at the American Sports University in downtown San Bernardino. It is such a large facility that includes weights various cardio machines etc. We will be able to run wrestling events there eventually on a monthly basis. Our first event there will be Friday February 29th 8:00 P.M. Years ago at a Cauliflower Alley Club "Ring of Friendship" gathering, I met a former wrestler who taught me one of the greatest statements I have ever heard and I quote "TAKE CARE OF THE BUSINESS, AND THE BUSINESS WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU" Guess what? It's the truth. I have always reminded that quote to my students and any wrestler that will listen.
