"MY THOUGHTS" by JESSE HERNANDEZ
| JESSE'S THOUGHTS April 15, 2008 The EWF & The School of Hard Knocks are about giving back to the community. Saturday morning was a busy morning at the American Sports University and the School of Hard Knocks in downtown San Bernardino. The normal class was interrupted by about 40 young underprivileged kids from group homes, churches and programs that are there to help get the youngsters on to the right track, away from drugs and violence. American Sports University are working together with various groups and with the Police department to help our youth, bringing them together for excersises, getting them in both boxing and wrestling rings. It was amazing to see that two young 9 or 10 year old kids loved the tumbling and various wrestling excersises. The two young kids made an impact on me as I watched the glow in their eyes, showing how much they enjoyed being in the ring. I feel that the two boys had natural talent as they were doing everything with ease. I was proud to bring such joy to them that I made a promise to them that if their parents would allow it I will train them free of charge on Saturdays. On that same day we
set up the ring in the middle of 19th St, just east of California
St, for San Bernardino's Operation Phoenix. Once again, I give thanks
to our staff and wrestlers for their giving up their time to help
me give back to the community, as more then 200 screaming kids and
adults came out of their residense to participate on this block party.
