CHRIS MASTERS DEFEATS BLACK METAL

May 15, 2009

After months of taunting by the former EWF Heavyweight Champion, Black Metal, Chris Masters stepped in the ring to confront the massive Metal, who was not only taller, but had a considerable weight advantage as well. Chris Masters eventually found himself caught in the Metallock and, after nearly passing out from the intense pressure, fought back to his feet and powered out the hold. Soon, with a little distraction from Jesse Hernandez, Metal found himself in the same position as Masters, caught in the Masterlock, with the difference being, Metal could not break Masters grip and eventually submit to the hold.

After the match, Jesse made a match for May 29th in Covina. For the months of his family's harrassment at the hands of Black Metal, Jesse proclaimed that he would be facing Black Metal in a Street Fight. Not only that, if Metal could not defeat Jesse, then he would lose his job with the Empire Wrestling Federation.

Once again, this match takes place on May 29th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Covina, CA.

LIGER RIVERA WINS AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

May 15, 2009

Once again, Liger Rivera overcame the odds and defeated Ryan Taylor to win the American Championship. Since defeating TJ Perkins and sending him on his way in a Loser Leaves EWF match, Liger has been on a roll, defeating wrestlers such as Brandon Gatson, Devon Willis and now, most recently, Ryan Taylor and now has the American Championship belt to show for it.

CHRIS KADILLAK WINS CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

May 15, 2009

"Zero Gravity" Chris Kadillak put one over on "Top Shelf" Jeremy Jaeger and EWF officials as he won the Cruiserweight Championship under the disguise of El Vigilante. No one suspected the man under the mask to be Chris Kadillak, who just one show earlier lost what was supposed to be his "last" shot at Jaeger's title. Commissioner Frank Mott, who was in attendance and witnessed the events of this match, let the referee's decision stand.

Former champion, Jeremy Jaeger, challenged Kadillak to the match in which he is undefeated, the Cruiserweight Cashout Match. The champion will put the title on the line while 5 other contenders each put up $200 in a winner take all elimination style match, which will take place on May 29th in Covina.

JESSE'S THOUGHTS

April 30, 2009

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of one of the most charismatic and true brother in wrestling, "Playboy" Buddy Rose, Paul Pershman. I had an opportunity to work with Rose as a wrestler in AWA with the great Sheri Martel and Doug Somers by his side. I also refereed many of his matches in the WWF. Rose was truly was a very good person and will be greatly missed by those of us who knew him. Much respect to his family and friends who are going to miss him dearly. R.I.P. my friend.

Sincerely,
Jesse Hernandez

SHAWN MICHAELS VISITS SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS

February 14, 2009

WWE Superstar Shawn Michaels and referee Marty Elias stopped by The School Of Hard Knocks this morning, while the EWF wrestlers and students were treated to some advice from Shawn, himself. During the workout, Shawn proved that no matter how big of a star you are, you never stop learning, as he learned a new submission or two from Candice LeRae, with whom he was very impressed with. Within the short couple of hours that Shawn joined us, the entire class left feeling that they had been a part of something special. The Empire Wrestling Federation would like to thank both Marty Elias and Shawn Michaels, as well as the WWE for spending some of their free time with us. We appreciated every minute.

EWF 2008 YEAR END AWARDS

January 8, 2009

2008 Wrestler of the Year

Ryan Taylor

Ryan Taylor has beaten out a slew of of great competitors to earn the honor of 2008's Wrestler of the Year. Not only did he defeat longtime EWF fan favorite, Vizzion, for the American Championship but he held his own with veteran TJ Perkins in 2 Title For Title matches, which ended with Ryan Taylor holding both the American Title, the NWA Heritage Championship and is your EWF 2008 Wrestler of the Year

Honorable Mentions: Scorpio Sky, Brandon Gatson

2008 Tag Team of the Year

Famous For Fearless

Not only is TJ Perkins and Liger Rivera your EWF Tag Team Champions, but Famous For Fearless, as they are known when they're teaming, are also undefeated for the entire year of 2008 and therefore, your EWF 2008 Tag Team of the Year. Famous For Fearless was considered the underdogs when challenging the much larger tag team of La Ola Del Mal for the Tag Team titles and just when they ran out of opportunities, they came out on top with the titles.

Honorable Mention: La Ola Del Mal

2008 Rookie of the Year

Chris Kadillak

In what may be the largest rookie class year the EWF has ever seen, "Zero Gravity" Chris Kadillak emerged as the 2008 Rookie of the Year. On numerous occasions, he nearly won the Cruiserweight Championship and has even held his own with the much larger Black Metal more than once. Kadillak beat out 16 other impressive rookies for this honor and promises to continue improving his game and to make 2009 an even better year than 2008.

Honorable Mention: Aiden Riley

2008 Most Improved Wrestler of the Year

Jeremy Jaeger

Just 4 days after reaching the 1 year mark since his debut in 2007, Jeremy Jaeger defeated Blackstar & Chris Kadillak in a Triple Threat Match to win his first title in the Empire Wrestling Federation, the Cruiserweight Championship. In addition to tuning things up a notch in his title defenses, he was also a contender for the Inland Title Series, putting up impressive showings against both Nick and Matt Jackson and Johnny Paradise. Although he came up short in the tournament, he proved why many consider him the Most Improved Wrestler of 2008.

Honorable Mentions: Black Metal, Espiritu Infernal

2008 Feud of the Year

Famous For Fearless vs K.O.S. & Joey Ryan

The feud between Famous For Fearless and K.O.S. started way back in March at the NWA Wrestling Showcase, where the newly debuting team of Famous For Fearless defeated the other new team of Ryan Taylor & Hook Bomberry. Hook got suspended last October at October Onslaught 2008 which left K.O.S. without a tag team partner. Mondo Vega decided to hire Joey Ryan to pick up Hook's slack and to continue their challenge for Famous For Fearless's EWF Tag Team Championship. This feud culminated at the end of the year at The Fight Before Christmas 2, when Famous For Fearless defended their titles against Ryan Taylor and Joey Ryan in the EWF's first ever Tag Team Ladder Match.

Honorable Mentions: Scorpio Sky vs Ryan Taylor, Brandon Gatson vs Mikey Nicholls

EWF 2008 Match of the Year

RYAN TAYLOR VS TJ PERKINS (12/12/08)

This match was a rematch from another Match of the Year candidate between TJ Perkins and Ryan Taylor, also a match where both titles were on the line and ended up as a draw. To ensure the result did not end up the same, the match was declared to be a Belt on a Pole Match, where a winner had to be declared. Taylor and Perkins fought tooth and nail over the two suspended belts. Eventually, the ladder which was used to suspend the belts on the pole was introduced into the match, which only made both wrestlers fight harder to win the match. Soon, both belts ended up on the mat without a clear winner. TJ and Taylor scuffled back and forth until Taylor ended up with the belts and the NWA Heritage Title!

Honorable Mentions: TJ Perkins vs Ryan Taylor (September 12, 2008 - Title For Title), Ryan Taylor vs Scorpio Sky (June 13, 2008), Brandon Gatson vs Mikey Nicholls (July 25, 2008 - Last Man Standing)

JESSE'S THOUGHTS

December 23, 2008

The EWF / School of Hard Knocks wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Joyous New Year. 2008 was an exciting year for our fans as we entertained our fans with many exciting matches. A special thanks to all our wrestlers that participated this year at our events that also included fundraisers such as Saint Jude's Children's Hospitals, the DeCosters Kids event and two Christmas Toy Drives. Our wrestlers and staff worked hard throughout the year to bring joy to those less fortunate and to entertain our wrestling fans. Let's not forget this last Sunday as we made history joining up with AWS with both promotions bringing in the very best talent for such a super event. We are looking forward in doing it again during the summer of 2009.

Lots of special surprises throughout the coming year as we promise to do our very best to take the EWF to a higher level in 2009 as we will continue to bring in talent never seen before in the EWF including former WWE superstar Chris Masters for a special event that will take place on Friday February 27th / 8:00 PM at the American Sports University downtown San Bernardino, the home of the Jesse Hernandez School of Hard Knocks. There will be special VIP seating available on this event that will allow you backstage access to be able to take pictures and get autograph with Chris Masters and other wrestlers appearing on this event.

THERE'S ONLY ONE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS

November 3, 2007

Don’t be fooled by imitations. There is only one true SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS in Southern California and that is the Jesse Hernandez School of Hard Knocks. It’s sometimes an honor to have someone imitate you or your product, although I feel that it may confuse people into investing into something that may not be what it’s supposed to be.

The name “School of Hard Knocks” was given to Bill Anderson and Jesse Hernandez by a CNN News reporter that came out to do a story on Bill and Jesse’s wrestling school, and ended the segment by saying and I quote “THIS IS TRULY A SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS.”

That was such a compliment to Bill and Jesse, that immediately the name to the school was changed. When Bill departed from the EWF and the School of Hard Knocks he allowed Jesse Hernandez to continue with the name, as he set out to run his own school using his own name “Bill Anderson’s Wrestling School".

Jesse Hernandez has taken the School of Hard Knocks and the Empire Wrestling Federation and ran with it keeping his students and local wrestlers active in our industry. I hope that this will at least help not confuse anyone into joining the wrong school.
