| EWF began
the month of February with a bang at yet another sold-out show at
the Knights of Columbus hall. If you have yet to experience the EWF
live, make plans to be at our next show! These results do not do our
superstars justice, as they always work their hardest to entertain
all our loyal fans.
The show began with an irate Dan “The Man” Kobrick heading to ringside. The 2005 Rookie of the Year made it known that this supposed to be his year again, but a certain individual had thrown a wrench in his plans. At Zero Tolerance, Kobrick had a match against the high-flying luchador, Maximo. Kobrick won the match in controversial fashion, as he nailed the young luchador with a stiff shot with his newly won Rookie of the Year trophy while the ref wasn’t looking. Kobrick picked up the win and began to celebrate, but newly appointed EWF Commissioner, the legendary Mando Guerrero, made his way to ringside, and ordered the match restarted. As Kobrick argued with Mando, Maximo rolled him up for the pin! An irate Kobrick called for Mando Guerrero to come to ringside. Kobrick then demanded that the new commissioner erase the loss from his record and award him a rematch. The new commissioner said he was happy to grant Kobrick a rematch, or a match against any superstar of his choosing, but the loss to Maximo would not be stricken from the record. Mando made sure to point out that during his reign as the commissioner, fair play is top priority, and Kobrick had to learn that the hard way. Mando stated his case and was about to leave, when Kobrick screamed at the top of his lungs for the decision to be reversed! When Guerrero denied his request, he called Guerrero a coward. Guerrero stated that he didn’t have to prove himself to anyone, and his decision would stand. Will tensions continue to mount between our new commissioner and our 2005 Rookie of the Year? |

Match 1: “So-Cal Kid”
Ryan Taylor v. X-Torm (w/ Suavecito)
Suavecito issued a challenge at Zero Tolerance that his new protégé, the “Tijuana Sensation,” X-Torm, would beat any cruiserweight the EWF could serve up. “The So-Cal Kid” answered the challenge, which led to this fast paced match-up. Ryan Taylor scored several near pin falls, and the action was back and forth. Ultimately, X-Torm had the upper hand because of the devious Suavecito in his corner. When Taylor wasn’t looking, Suavecito used his cane to trip up Taylor, which allowed X-Torm to roll him up for the pin. Winner: X-Torm |

2: Ragin' Dawg vs "Ghetto Psycho" Big Q
This match saw two EWF superstars return to the ring after a year’s absence. Ragin’ Dawg was the obvious crowd favorite, as he brought his favorite Toy Pomeranian to the ring. Big Q imposed his will early and often, and proved to be too much for the Dawg to handle. The exclamation point came with a devastating sidewalk slam from Q to Dawg. Winner: Big Q |
Match
3: “Sadistic” Ron Kilbourn v. Liger "Xtreme"
Rivera
Once again, Ron Kilbourn is matched up with a Cruiserweight. He has been on an undefeated streak in the Cruiserweight division, devouring every lightweight superstar that has been put in front of him. Tonight the Sadistic one would face a true test against former two-time cruiserweight champion, Liger Rivera. Kilbourn made his imposing presence known early, executing a vicious sit down powerbomb that knocked the wind out of Liger. Liger tried to gain control of the match utilizing his high-flying tactics. An unexpected drop toehold and a giant amount of inertia were all Liger needed to send the big man to outside of the ring. He sprang from the top rope, and attempted to use the weight of his body to drive Kilbourn to the floor. Much to Liger’s dismay, Kilbourn caught him in mid air! He then tossed Liger like a rag doll into the steel post on the side of the ring. Kilbourn appeared to have the match in hand, when out to the ring came Kid Karnage. Ron had screwed Karnage at Zero Tolerance, allying himself with Karnage’s partner in a handicap match. Karnage came to the ring for a bit of revenge, which was just enough to distract Kilbourn. Liger toppled the big man and covered him for the pin, ending his reign of terror over the cruiserweight division. After the match, an apparently humble Kilbourn
extended his hand for a show of good faith from Liger. Liger would
fall for the oldest trick in the book, as an enraged Kilbourn pulled
Liger in, and dealt with him with his devastating “Dealing of
the With” finisher. Rivera may have won the match, but Ron Kilbourn
made a statement. Winner: Liger Rivera |
Match
4: “Marvelous” Max Martin v. Kid Karnage
One month ago at New Year’s Retribution, these two locked up in what was a very fair and down the middle match. That is, until Johnny Starr and his attorney revealed that Starr had purchased Max’s contract and helped to screw Karnage out of a win. Tonight would be a revenge rematch for Karnage, would he be better off knowing Max’s affiliations ahead of time? Of course, Max had the Starr entourage in tow. Johnny Starr, J. Terex III, and the EWF American Champion Vizzion all accompanied Max to the ring. Starr and Terex remained at ringside, while Vizzion joined the commentary crew at the announce table. The match appeared to be going Karnage’s way as referee Mando Vega ejected Starr from the arena early on. Max appeared to be playing fair when J. Terex got involved with one of our fans at ringside. Referees and security went to difuse the situation, when Vizzion ran into the ring and delivered a vicious DDT to Karnage. Max took advantage of the gift and covered Karnage just in time for the ref to see it. Winner: Max Martin |
Match 5: EWF World Championship Match Bino Gambino (c) vs Aaron Aguilera Earlier in the night, Bino made his way into the arena and once again stated that it wasn’t the fans that helped him win the world title, it was himself. He questioned the parentage of the children in attendance and went on to say that no one could stop him no matter how big they are. Despite the size difference, Bino was able to hang with the 6’6” 250 lb. superstar. He grounded the big man several times by working on his legs and ankles, even locking in the figure-four leg lock several times. Aguilera returned with a Bow and Arrow submission of his own, but Bino made it to the ropes to break the hold. The match ended as Aaron executed his modified Alabama Slam, the Montazuma’s Revenge. He cinched Bino in, but the champ was holding on for dear life to the top rope. Aguilera finally managed to break Bino free, and with decisive and destructive power sent him down to the mat. The crowd erupted as we crowned a new EWF champion! After the match, Aaron would accept a challenge from former American Champion Syrus. Winner and NEW EWF World Heavyweight Champion: Aaron Aguilera! |

Match 6: EWF Cruiserweight Championship Match
Joey Harder (c) vs TJ Perkins Joey Harder continues to prove his dominance in the Cruiserweight division. These two men put on a technical clinic. There had to be at least five minutes of solid chain wrestling. The two men never broke the test of strength hold that they used to start the match. With no clear cut favorite, TJ decided to take his ground game to the air. However, a missed plancha from the top rope would prove costly. Harder used the opening to go to work on the right arm of Perkins. The unrelenting Harder then executed a painful Fujiwara arm bar which caused the young cruiserweight to tap to the champ Winner and still EWF Cruiserweight Champion: Joey Harder |

Match 7: Mixed Tag Team
Match
Human Tornado & Carla Jade vs Joey Ryan & Candice LeRae High flying action at it’s best! The charismatic Tornado was decked out in purple pinstripes, with matching colors worn by Jade. Joey and Candice followed suit, with a matching orange ensemble. That’s about as much fashion news as you’ll get, as it was war from here. There was no love lost between either of these competitors. This fast paced match saw action all over the arena. Double topés from Ryan to Tornado and from LeRae to Jade were just some of the highlights of this awesome match. Later on, as Tornado was alone in the ring after knocking Ryan to the outside, LeRae thought it a good time to take advantage of the situation with a low blow. Bad move on LeRae’s part, as she almost broke her wrist because of Tornado’s BALLS OF STEEL. Tornado performed his amazing leap over the ring post from the outside of the ring, and knocked Joey Ryan out cold. This gave plenty of time for Carla Jade to pin a dazed Candice for the win! Winners: Human Tornado & Carla Jade |
Match
8: 6-Man Tag Team Match
Los Chivos & Mr. Nitro2Go vs Jason King, Dan Kobrick & Black Metal (w/ Suavecito) Dan Kobrick’s feud with the Chivos continues! This time, Dan recruited former two-time Tag Team Champion, and former EWF World Champion, Jason King. Together they are both the 2005 Rookie of the Year, and 2005 Wrestler of the Year, and with the gigantic Black Metal on their side, they were an imposing challenge to the Tag Team Champions. The match saw Kobrick and King dominate early, but the Chivos would make a huge comeback. Suavecito would cause a distraction on the outside which would allow Kobrick to get the low blow and nail Kayam for the pin. After the match, Kobrick demanded a title shot, Jason King and Dan Kobrick vs. Los Chivos for the Tag Team Championship! Winners: Jason King, Dan Kobrick & Black Metal |
