|
| Once again a capacity Covina crowd was treated to another exciting night of professional wrestling action, PLUS the return of another legend to the Knights of Columbus Hall! At the opening of our show, ring announcer Jessica Walters was rudely interrupted by former world champion, Bino Gambino. He asked the crowd what was missing from around his “gorgeous waist.” Of course it was the world championship title, which he lost two weeks prior at Total Annihilation. It seemed as the harassment of our lovely ring announcer would never stop, when the funky beat of Human Tornado’s music filled the hall. He took issue with Bino, and the fact that he seemed to forget that he was his opponent later that evening. The two argued back and forth about what type of stipulation they should have in their match. Tornado graciously allowed the former champ to call the shots, to which Bino selected a “thrilling, spectacular, super-duper… regular match.” Bino cockily swaggered from the ring to the back to a chorus of boos from the raucous Covina crowd. |

Match 1: Antonio Mestre
v. Brandon Nitro
Pre-match, “Everyone’s Favorite Brazilian” grabbed the microphone and pointed out that he had been undefeated in Covina since his return to the EWF. He also wondered why a superstar such as himself could beat every opponent thrown his way, yet current champion Aaron Aguilera gets a title shot in his debut match. Mestre asked where his title shot was, when Brandon Nitro’s music hit. The two had an athletic contest, with Nitro showing his agility with several handspring elbows to Mestre. The resourceful Brazilian soon caught Nitro off guard with his “Rings of Brazil” finisher. Winner: Antonio Mestre |

2: Ron Kilbourn & Markus Riot v. Doomsday
The new tandem of Kilbourn & Riot made their debut tonight, and they had their work cut out for them against the imposing force of Doomsday. The match began with an vicious exchange of shoulder blocks between Darkside and Kilbourn. No matter how hard he tried, Darkside could just not take the big man down. Instead, it was Darkside who fell to the mat after Kilbourn threw a massive block of his own. Kilbourn would later tag in his high flying cruiserweight partner Markus Riot. While Doomsday regrouped on the outside, Riot would not wait, so he attempted a flying crossbody to take them out. This plan backfired as Doomsday caught Riot in Mid-Air. Without giving them time to think, the massive Kilbourn hurled his body from the ring apron towards the entire group, sending all four men crashing to the ground! Back in the ring, Riot finished the job by executing a 450 splash and pinning Darkside for the victory! After the match, as Riot celebrated, an angry Darkside grabbed Riot and gave him a vicious splash mountain bomb in the center of the ring. Interestingly, his partner Ron Kilbourn looked on and did nothing, as he left his partner to be dismantled at the hands of Doomsday. Winner: Ron Kilbourn & Markus Riot |
| Match 3: EWF Cruiserweight Championship Joey Harder (c) vs Liger Rivera Liger Rivera is a two-time former
Cruiserweight Champion and was formerly the longest reigning Cruiserweight
Champion at 148 days. Joey Harder took that title too, because as
of February 24, he has held the Cruiserweight title for a consecutive
155 days and counting. Since making his return to the EWF in January,
he has had his sights set on regaining Cruiserweight gold. After climbing
the ranks Liger would finally get his shot at the vicious young current
Cruiserweight Champion. The two took each other to the limit, first
with extensive mat work that played right into Harder’s strength,
as he managed to ground the high-flying Rivera for a short period
of time. That would not last for long, as Liger was able to execute
a Hurricanrana to send Harder to the outside. A stunned Harder managed
to regain his composure and delivered a massive powerbomb to Rivera
on the concrete floor. The two battered opponents slugged it out and
made their way to the Covina stage near the announce table. Harder
managed to grab Liger and hurl him about 8 feet from the stage to
the ring. He then went to finish the job with a flying double axehandle
from the top of the stage, but Liger caught him in mid-air with a
standing dropkick. It appeared as Liger was going to regain the title,
but Harder kicked out of his pin. He then got up and executed a schoolboy
rollup, with a blatant handful of tights, situated perfectly so the
ref could not see. Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion: Joey Harder Post match: Dan “The Man” Kobrick’s Music filled the air. He made his way toward the ring and demanded that Commissioner Mando Guerrero start Harder's match over since he cheated to win. He felt that he was being singled out by the commissioner so the same rules should apply to all superstars, not just him. He also demanded that his previous loss be reversed from three shows prior, at Zero Tolerance. Mando then made his way to the ring and stated that Harder’s win would not be reversed, and neither would Kobrick’s loss as both were in the record book – permanently. An irate Kobrick stormed out of the ring, stating that he was not finished with the commissioner. |
| Match 4: EWF World Championship (Hardcore Match) Aaron Aguilera (c) w/ El Jefe vs Syrus Aaron made his way to the ring with his manager, El Jefe. The match would begin with everything but the kitchen sink, as Aguilera, formerly known as the “Hardkore Kid,” brought plenty of toys to play with. The two laid into each other exchanging clubbing blows, when Syrus picked up a “BUMP” street sign and smashed it over the head of the champion. The champion countered and was unrelenting, smashing a snare drum over the head of Syrus, completely destroying it. Aguilera pummeled Syrus with everything he had, including a framed picture of Jesse Hernandez! El Jefe interjected himself into the match, as Aguilera held Syrus while El Jefe repeatedly punched him in the stomach. The match ended as El Jefe and Aguilera double chokeslammed Syrus through a table. Hardcore rules, falls count anywhere, as Aguilera pins Syrus on the broken table to retain the EWF World Title. Winner and still EWF World Champion: Aaron Aguilera Post Match: Mando Guerrero made his way to the ring to present the EWF World Title to Aguilera. As Aaron left, Dan Kobrick and Joey Harder stormed the ring together! The two began a ruthless beat down of Commissioner Mando. Who should appear from the back to make the save? None other than his brother, “The Classic Legend” Chavo Guerrero! Chavo rushed the ring and chased off Kobrick and Harder. Mando got on the mic, and called out Kobrick and Harder. Kobrick began crying again about his loss to Maximo. Mando stated that if he and Harder could defeat him and his brother, then the loss would be stricken from the EWF record books. He then signed Dan “The Man” Kobrick and Joey Harder versus Los Guerreros Senior for March 12! |
| Match 5: Alex Pinchek & The Awesome Plague v. "Handsome" Johnny Starr and “Marvelous” Max Martin The awesome power of The Plague was on display yet again in this entertaining match up. Of course, Johnny Starr made his way to the ring with his entourage of EWF American Champion Vizzion and his attorney, J. Terex III. Plague would have his way with Martin as he pressed him 5 times over his head! He sent Martin crashing to the mat. In what seems to be a regular occurrence, Attorney Terex once again was involved with an altercation with a fan. Whether by coincidence or design, this provided enough time for Vizzion to storm the ring and attempt to cheat in order to give his boss the victory. Vizzion was messing with the wrong man, as his plan backfired, and instead Plague power bombed Martin. Due to yet another distraction by a fan at ringside, Plague and Pinchek managed to pick up a countout victory over Starr & Martin. Winners: Alex Pinchek & The Plague |

Match 6: The Human Tornado vs Bino Gambino
This match-up was everything that could be expected from two of the most prolific young superstars on the Southern California Pro Wrestling circuit. The charismatic Tornado began the match with his signature dance moves, but Gambino would have nothing of it. The match was a see-saw battle, when Tornado landed his Tornado DDT and sent Gambino to the mat. He then set Gambino up in the corner and nailed the signature Tai-Bro! Bino could feel that he was losing control of the match, so he went for the steel chair equalizer. Tornado was climbing up to the ring from the outside, but saw Gambino’s chair shot and ducked! The chair bounced off the top rope and nailed Gambino in the head, knocking him out cold. A dazed referee Mando Vega, then made his way back into the ring, and saw the Tornado had Bino covered. Winner: The Human Tornado |

Match 7: EWF Tag Team Championship
Los Chivos (c) vs Dan Kobrick & The Iceman Kobrick again continued his quest for tag-team gold and his vendetta against Los Chivos. This time he enlisted the help of former EWF World, American, and Tag Team Champion, Iceman. A great matchup, that would be marred as Kobrick and Iceman would double team their opponents several times throughout the match. Referree Rick Knox would be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and be knocked to outside of the match by an errant kick from the Iceman. As chaos erupted in the ring, the Chivos would come in and finally defend against the double-team, while Enigma handled Kobrick, Kayam would cinch in a tombstone pile-driver on the Iceman. Enigma grabbed a dazed Rick Knox as he counted the pin for a Chivos victory. Winners and still EWF Tag Team Champions: Los Chivos |
