Match 1: "The So-Cal
Kid" Ryan Taylor vs Dave The Bruiser
The So-Cal Kid was on fire tonight! Taylor has been putting some awesome matches together as of late, and it culminated with tonight’s big win over a big man. Taylor made quick work of The Bruiser and looked to be a man possessed. Early on, it appeared as if Dave might have had the young cruiserweight scouted, dodging a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and putting Taylor in a sticky situation. However, Taylor would not be denied, as he executed several stiff legs to The Bruiser’s abdomen and groin area. With his opponent incapacitated, Taylor made quick work of him nailing a vicious rolling centon for the victory. Taylor proved he is ready for his Cruiserweight Title shot against Joey Harder next week in El Monte! Winner: Ryan Taylor |

2: "Brawlin'" Bo Cooper vs Markus Riot
Riot was in a hurry to prove he could take a big man down by cutting off ring announcer Jessica Walters and executing a moonsault off the apron that sent Cooper reeling to the concrete floor before the first bell could ring. The action was back and forth from there on out. Cooper dominated early with his size advantage, executing a picture perfect Samoan Drop that sent Riot down hard to the mat. Riot soon began his offensive by taking away the vertical base of Bo Cooper and working over his legs. As Cooper tried to regain his composure and get to his feet, Riot quickly went to the top rope and issued a dazed Cooper a huge flying head scissors that sent him back down to the mat. Riot then went to the top rope again, crashing down hard with a huge 450° splash. A quick cover would see Bo Cooper kick out in desperation. Determined to finish the big man, Riot went to the top rope again. However, this time he might have gone to the well too many times. Cooper made it to his feet, grabbed Riot from the top and gave him a destructive Death Valley Driver to finish the match. Winner: Bo Cooper |
Special Announcement from Commissioner Mando Guerrero Before the next match could start Syrus’ music hit as he made his way to the ring. Following closely behind was Commissioner Guerrero. He then informed the crowd and Syrus why he had called him to the ring. Current champion Aaron Aguilera informed Commissioner Guerrero via telephone that he would not be able to appear at tonight’s show for his scheduled title defense against Syrus. Mando informed the crowd and Aaron that if he couldn’t make it to a scheduled show to fulfill his duties as champion, he had no right to hold the EWF World Title! Guerrero stripped Aguilera of the title and declared Syrus the winner of their scheduled match via forfeit. Since the belt was on the line, Guerrero appointed Syrus the new EWF World Champion! Syrus had other things in mind this evening, though. Ever the competitor, Syrus politely declined, and said the World Title should be earned, not given away. Enter former World Champion Bino Gambino. He stated that since the title was forfeit, he felt it should be placed on the person who held the title before Aguilera. Coincidentally, it happened to be Bino Gambino. Mando then declared that it would be Bino versus Syrus for the World Title at the end of the night! As all three men were about to leave the ring, a familiar sounding latin beat filled the air. The “Classic Legend” Chavo Guerrero, Sr. walked through the curtains! He stated that he was in Covina to fight, and he wanted a shot at the vacant title as well! Chavo pressed his brother for a ruling, but being a fair commissioner, he went to EWF Owner Jesse Hernandez to make the final call. Hernandez ruled that since Chavo already had a match scheduled with his brother, he would have to pull double duty and wrestle twice if he wanted a shot at the title. Chavo had no problems wrestling twice in one night, and accepted Hernandez’ proposal. The main event was on! A triple threat match for the vacant EWF world title: Bino Gambino versus Syrus versus Chavo Guerrero, Sr! |

Match 3: Jason King vs Angelas One would think that Commissioner
Guerrero would take it easy on a rookie competing in his first match.
That was not the case, as Angelas was going to earn his stripes tonight
against a former world champion. At first, King appeared to have underestimated
the young rookie, as none of Jason’s offense seemed to matter
much. Angelas would strike back and would return everything that King
served up. Jason issued his signature Wizard of Awe, to which Angelus
blocked! It appeared the rookie had been doing his homework. King
would not be denied, and sent Angelas to the ground with a second
wizard of awe. King breathed a sign of relief, but to his dismay,
Angelas quickly got up and executed a vicious move of his own! He
grabbed King by the throat, and modified a chokeslam to end across
his knee as a backbreaker instead of on the mat. Angelas appeared
to have the match in hand, but he made what would be a costly rookie
mistake. Celebrating with the crowd for too long, he gave King time
to recover. The former champ lowered his knee pad, and firmly connected
the third and final Wizard of Awe. This would leave Angelas out cold,
and King would pick up the victory thereafter. Despite his attitude
as of late, Jason King can appreciate a good competitor, and he recognized
Angelas to be young rising talent in the EWF. King showed his approval
by shaking his hand at the end of the match, to which Angelus accepted.
Winner: Jason King |
| Match 4: Los Chivos & The Human Tornado vs Bino Gambino, Black Metal & X-Torm with Suavecito & Carmine Gambino As the devious Suavecito made his way to the ring, followed closely by his young prodigies, Bino would follow with a new escort. Feeling that blood is thicker than water, Bino called upon his cousin, Carmine Gambino, from “the old country,” to become his personal security guard. The match was underway, and Human Tornado appeared to have things in control. However, the match would soon get out of hand, as Black Metal and X-Torm would isolate the ring and pummel Tornado, not allowing him to make a tag with his teammates, Los Chivos. When Tornado was finally able to make it to his corner and tag in Kayam, he was met in the ring with a steel chair from Carmine Gambino! The referee would call for a disqualification, but that mattered little to Suavecito and his cronies. They began to maim and maul the Chivos and Tornado, until Los Guerreros Senior, made their way to the ring! They chased off Bino and the rest of his crew as they came to the aid of Tornado and Los Chivos. Chavo and Gambino had words, as both noted they would see each other in the main event. Winners: Los Chivos & The Human Tornado |
| Match 5: Mando & Chavo Guerrero, Sr. vs Dan "The Man" Kobrick & Joey Harder The culmination of a long feud between Kobrick and Guerrero would be with this match. Kobrick has been endlessly complaining to Commissioner Guerrero about a match that Guerrero restarted and that Kobrick lost, on Guerrero’s first night as EWF Commissioner. After weeks of goading by Kobrick, Guerrero declared that he would strike the loss from the EWF record book if Kobrick could win this match. Toss in the fact the Joey Harder tried to help Kobrick beat down Commissioner Guerrero at our last show, Damage Control, only to be saved by his brother Chavo, and you have the foundation for tonight’s match. The elder tag-team would show the youngsters some textbook tag team wrestling early on, isolating the ring and working on the arms of both men. It was a clean match down the middle, until Kobrick and Harder became frustrated and began using double team tactics by distracting referee Rick Knox, allowing Kobrick to choke Chavo in the corner. Proving you can’t cheat a cheater, while Harder had Knox occupied, Mando left the ring apron and grabbed a steel chair from the crowd. Kobrick saw this and attempted to confront Mando, and was answered with a steel chair directly to the head! Kobrick was knocked out cold. Mando then made his way to the other side of the ring to keep Referee Knox distracted. Chavo picked up the chair that Mando left behind, threatened Harder, and smashed the chair loudly onto the mat. Chavo then tossed the chair to harder, and fell to the mat, in a tip of the hat to his late brother, Eddie. A confused Knox could only see Harder with a weapon, and both Chavo and Kobrick laid out on the mat. As Knox began to question Harder, Mando came in and quickly pinned Kobrick, and when Knox turned around, all he could do was count to three! Chants of “Eddie, Eddie” filled the air as Los Guerreros celebrated their victory with the Covina crowd, as both gave a touching tribute to their late brother. Winners: Mando & Chavo Guerrero, Sr. |

Match 6: Brandon Nitro vs "Handsome" Johnny
Starr
Once again Starr would head to the ring followed by EWF American Champion Vizzion and his lawyer, J. Terex III. The acrobatic Nitro would go on the offensive, and send Starr to the mat several times. Starr appeared to be losing control of the match when Nitro hit his cartwheel avalanche splash, the Mile-High. With the distractions from Vizzion and J. Terex, Starr managed to sneak a pinfall victory over the young Nitro. However, the fan that J. Terex has been tormenting at ringside over the past few shows had enough and suddenly went berserk. He stormed the ring and attempted to fight Starr and his men. The three issued a beat down, as both Nitro and the fan were beat up in the ring. Determined not to let one of our fans get hurt, Ryan Taylor and Angelas rushed the ring to render aid! Nitro made it to his feet, and the three fended off Starr and his posse. Johnny Starr then got on the microphone and hurled vile insults at the fan, and he replied that he wanted to take on all three men! Jesse Hernandez came to the ring, and said he would not allow an untrained fan into his ring. Nitro, Taylor, and Angelas offered to train him, and Hernandez agreed that if he could be trained, he’d have his match! Stay tuned for that one! Winner: Johnny Starr |

Match 7: EWF World Championship
"The Classic Legend" Chavo Guerrero, Sr. vs Bino Gambino vs Syrus All three men were fired up for this one. The match began as Syrus and Bino tied up, while Chavo waited to pick his spot. After trying to break up Syrus’ pin attempt, Chavo got into the mix and helped Syrus double team Bino! The two stomped on Bino and issued stiff boots to the midsection. However, the new alliance quickly dissolved as Syrus and Chavo tried to pin Bino, only to have their attempt broken up by the other competitor. The crafty Guerrero waited for the opportune moment to strike. Syrus isolated Bino in the corner, and executed his finisher, The Final Fall. Chavo then grabbed Syrus from behind, and threw him to the outside on the concrete floor! With Bino incapacitated, Chavo covered him for the easy victory! Winners and NEW EWF World Champion: Chavo Guerrero, Sr. Post Match: After the match, Syrus entered the ring, and asked if Chavo could win a match on his own without someone else’s help. Chavo said he’d answer any challenge, and so the match is on in one week at El Monte! Chavo versus Syrus for the EWF World Title! |
