March 18, 2007 Ventura, CA Hit & Run
|
Last Sunday night, on March
18th, 2007, the EWF invaded the Majestic Theater in Ventura. Although
this would be the first time the EWF has ever been to Ventura, by
the end of the night, many of the fans were left standing and shouting
for an encore. The following are the complete results of what took
place at EWF's Hit N’ Run! |
|
Match 1: EWF Cruiserweight Championship Ryan Taylor (C) vs Kid Karnage Taylor and Karnage recently battled it out at EWF's Pain Solves Everything. This match started off with Taylor keeping Karnage in control on the ground and using various technical maneuvers to out-wrestle his opponent. It seemed to work for Taylor even after hitting a Plancha to the outside of the ring. Although Karnage would soon get the match rolling in his favor as he delivered a sharp running knee to Taylor’s gut, Karnage would soon start seeing a victory within his grasp. After quite a fight from both men, Taylor managed to pick up the win after moving out of the way from a top rope Frog Splash and nailing Karnage with a quick Spin Kick and the Gojira DDT. Winner: Ryan Taylor |

2: Dan "The Man" Kobrick vs Country Bear
The Atmosphere in the Majestic Theater was filled with optimistic hope and the fans were not let down, although Dan Kobrick seemed to disgruntle many of them along his way to the ring. The fans soon found a hero in Country Bear, the EWF’s big boy from the south. Now seeing as Country stands well over 6 ft tall, Kobrick was very weary to match up with the much larger opponent. For this reason, every time Kobrick would be thrown from a lock up he would leave the ring and find some way to take time to be able to get a new game plan in his head. Eventually, Kobrick found a way to start hacking down the big man and soon enough, Kobrick’s anger took over and allowed him to even the odds in this match. In the end of this match, Country had hit a powerful move to Kobrick and began to dance around in excitement. He became too excited and “belly bounced” the referee, Rick Knox, so hard that he caused the referee to fall down. While Country was helping him back to his feet, Kobrick wasted no time in capitalizing and delivering a hard low blow to Country Bear and was able to pick up a win. Winner: Dan Kobrick |
Match 3: Black Metal vs Bobby Jo Marshall Black Metal is a man who can truly live up to his nickname, the O.C. Wrecking Machine. In the EWF, he is known for being just that. So when the EWF American Champion, Human Tornado, was unable to defend his title against the man from down under, Bobby Jo Marshall, EWF officials decided to give the open spot to the overpowering Black Metal. As the referee rang for the bell to begin the match, Marshall immediately began his showboating antics to Black Metal and the crowd. However, Black Metal wouldn’t take any harassment and showed how serious he was and began to throw the big Aussie around the ring. Eventually Marshall was able to hit a top rope Diving Elbow to knock Black Metal down and get a little bit of hope in winning this match. The end of this match came when Marshall went for an Axe Kick off the ropes but was caught with a clothesline from Black Metal followed by a Powerbomb for the win. Winner: Black Metal |
Match 4: Bernie Bays vs Terex Terex has been absent from the EWF ever since the disbanding of Starr Inc., but tonight, Terex was out to prove how dangerous he could really be. His opponent for this evening would be a rookie in the EWF, Bernie Bays. Not a lot is known about Bays. One thing is for sure is that if he can last more than 5 minutes in a ring with Terrex, then his career in the EWF is off to a good start. The match began with each competitor trying to outsmart and outlast the other through a series of lockups and tests of strength. Terex overpowered Bays but Bays would soon fight back and keep himself alive, however, Terex would not let it last long as he soon gained control over Bays. In the end of this match, Bays kicked out from a Samoan Drop and was able to hit the Boomerang on Terex for the win. Winner: "The Australian Dynamo" Bernie Bays |
| Match 5: Featured Attraction vs Brandon Nitro & Vizzion Brandon Nitro and Vizzion are both very familiar to the wrestling ring and the EWF, however, their opponents called Featured Attraction, Matt Flash and Mike Arsenal, are both rookies in the EWF. Though they would have a special weapon on their side or should I say at ringside, they seemed to enlist the help of the antagonizing Mad MacIintosh to make sure that their inexperience wasn’t an issue. The Match began with Vizzion and Nitro showing their talents and keeping the opposing team in their control, Nitro even hit a huge back flip over the top rope to the outside onto his opponents and at this point it seemed this watch would end early. However with the help of Mad Macintosh, Featured Attraction was able to get the ball rolling in their favor and gain control over Brandon Nitro. Featured Attraction continued to display multiple double team maneuvers and seemed to be shining bright. After Vizzion got tagged in, he started to even the odds and nearly won the match. In the end, Nitro had hit a powerful 450 Splash and if it hadn’t been for Mad MacIntosh, the match would have been over, but the match ended after Nitro attempted to suplex Mike Arsenal in from the outside. MacIntosh tripped Nitro’s feet and caused Arsenal to land on top of him and cover him for a pin while MacIntosh continued to hold his feet for the pinfall. Winners: Featured Attraction |

Match 6: Angelas vs Ronin
Ever since winning the Rookie of the Year Award for 2006, Angelas has begun trying to compete against more advanced opponents. This has not been an easy task for the EWF rookie. Ronin is no stranger to the squared circle and has been making waves through the years due to his style and reputation and, for this reason, Angelas personally requested to face the Monster from Monrovia. The match began with both men trying to strike and wrestle at the same time and it seemed to be going in Ronin’s favor until Angeles started to pick apart his left arm and focus solely on that one body part. It seemed to work until Ronin began to regain control in the match up and keep the rookie down. The end of this match came when Angles had attempted an Armbar to Ronin but Ronin broke out of it and nailed a vicious Death Valley Driver to Angelas. Angeles then rolled out of the ring and Ronin followed him. Both men began throwing a mixture of forearms and slaps and trying to fight on the outside of the ring until the referee called the match due to a double count-out. Both men had to be pulled apart by the referees in attendance. Winner: Double Countout |
Match 7: Mad MacIntosh vs Liger Rivera MacIntosh had been on a roll as of tonight, with taunting each wrestler in the ring through the commentary table and with managing the team of Featured Attraction to pick up their first win in the EWF. Could Macintosh keep up his winning streak or would it all catch up to him as he faced off against Liger River in the semi-main event of the evening. The match began with MacIntosh trying to play games with Rivera and confuse him in such a matter. Rivera didn’t take to it too kindly and began using his agility and high flying arsenal to take out MacIntosh. Mac seemed to be able to keep Rivera off his feet and the match going in his favor. It all seemed to work out for MacIntosh until after he darted Rivera head first into a corner pad. He nearly had it won but Rivera surprised him with a quick slam and the “Shock and Awe” for the win. Winner: Liger Rivera |

Match 8: EWF Championship - Fatal 4-Way Match Joey Harder (C) vs Hook Bomberry vs Rocky Romero vs Karl Anderson Ever since winning the most prestigious championship in the EWF, Joey Harder has been a marked man and now, he would be facing off against 3 other men all gunning for the same title. The real kicker in this match is Harder does not even have to be beaten in order to lose his title. The stipulation is first man to gain a win via pin fall or submission is declared the winner of the match. When all 4 men entered the ring they each had their minds set on walking out with the gold but only one would be able to do it. The match started with Bomberry and Anderson attacking Harder and Romero. Harder and Romero each surprised them and knocked both men out of the ring. They then fought in the ring until Bomberry and Anderson got back in. Then Romero and Anderson went to the outside and Harder and Bomberry stayed in the ring and fought. This match continued in this back and forth action until the climatic end when Bomberry was thrown to the outside by Anderson and Harder attempted to fight Anderson but Romero got involved. Anderson then attacked Romero and went for a clothesline but Romero ducked it and in the process performed a Suicide Dive onto Bomberry who was on the outside. It was then that Joey picked the legs of Anderson and forced him into the Lion Tamer for the submission. Winner: Joey Harder |
