EWF 2005 YEAR END AWARDS January 22, 2006 2005 Wrestler of the Year JASON KING
Few can argue that 2005 was Jason King's year in the Empire Wrestling Federation. It is no secret that Jason intends to regain the gold in 2006. Honorable Mentions: Bino Gambino, Syrus
2005 Rookie of the Year DAN "THE MAN" KOBRICK
Dan "The Man Kobrick is this year's easy pick for Rookie of the Year. He has not only beaten the other rookies, but has defeated veteran tag team Los Chivos on more than one occasion with various tag team partners. Kobrick, in his relentlous assault on the Empire Wrestling Federation, has even come close to winning the American Title from Syrus and the EWF World Championship from both Jason King and Bino Gambino. Honorable Mention: "Mad" Max Martin
EWF Match of the Year JASON KING vs BINO GAMBINO (August 19, 2005) This year's Match of the Year almost did not happen. Jason King was set to defend against J.T. Scarface, a much bigger and stronger opponent, when it was revealed that Scarface would not be appearing. Left without an opponent for this evening, an exhausted Bino Gambino stepped up. Bino had wrestled earlier in the night but is experienced enough to know that when an opportunity like this presents itself, to take the ball and run with it. Bino gave everything he had but, ultimately, fell short at the ruthless hands of Jason King. However, this match set in motion a chain of events that led to Bino realizing his dream of becoming the World Champion. The eyes of EWF officials and owner Jesse Hernandez were opened and immediately ordered a rematch for the next show in Covina. The rest, as they say, is history. Honorable Mentions: Joey Harder vs TJ Perkins (October 31, 2005), Jason King vs Bino Gambino (September 23, 2005) |
